The selector
Runs in your browser. Every pairing is one a published catalogue states; nothing is guessed from mounting systems.
Where the pairings come from
Every pairing comes from the Cherry pages of the Aircraft Spruce catalogue (2025-26, pages 799 to 802). A head is listed for a riveter only if the catalogue says it fits that tool or supplies it in that tool's kit. For example, the G747CMR, G746ACMRB and G704BCMR kits each include the H701B-456 straight, H753A-456 right-angle and H781-456 offset CherryMAX heads. The H782 offset head uses the CherryMAX mounting system of the G704B, G746A and G747. The G83 kit adds the 744-300 adapter for the CherryMAX heads.
CherryMAX part numbers such as CR3213-5-04 carry the diameter in the middle dash, in 1/32 in: -5 is 5/32 in. The selector reads it from the number; CR324x numbers are the oversize series.
Where the catalogue names a head but not the tool it fits, the head is shown with “not named” rather than matched to a riveter. A head may fit more tools than this lists; it will not list a pairing the catalogue does not.
Worked example
CR3213-5-04 (CherryMAX, 5/32 in, universal head) with a G747, in a corner where a straight head will not reach.
- -5 = 5/32 in CherryMAX.
- On the G747 the catalogue lists H701B-456 straight, H753A-456 right angle, H781-456 offset and H782 offset.
- Right angle access: H753A-456, no adapter.
H753A-456 on the G747, or the H781-456 / H782 offset if the angle head does not fit either.
Limits — when NOT to use this
- Cherry's tooling documentation governs. Check the head and nosepiece against the tool manual and the rivet's process specification.
- Distributor data. The pairings come from a distributor's catalogue that reproduces Cherry's; distributor figures for tool stroke and force differ between sources.
- Other brands (Gage Bilt, Huck) and Airbus part numbers are not covered yet.
Questions people actually ask
Does an oversize CherryMAX need a different head?
The catalogue describes H701B-456, H753A-456 and H781-456 as installing 1/8, 5/32 and 3/16 in nominal and oversize CherryMAX rivets.
