Affiliate Disclosure

Some links on this site earn us a commission. This page says which, how much, and what it changes — which should be nothing, but you are entitled to check that claim yourself.

The short version

The Aviation Point links to third-party manufacturer and distributor websites. On some of those links we may earn a commission if you buy something. It costs you nothing extra — the price is the same as going to the seller directly.

We do not sell anything, hold stock, or process payments. Every purchase happens on the seller's own site, under their terms, with their returns policy and their warranty.

What is true right now

At the time of writing, we have no affiliate agreement with anyone. Every outbound link on this site is a plain link to a distributor we rate. We earn nothing from any of them.

That will change — applying to affiliate programs is part of the plan — and this page will be updated when it does, with the programs named. Until you see them named here, assume the answer is that no link on this site pays us.

How affiliate links will be marked

Every outbound commercial link on this site carries rel="nofollow sponsored" in its markup, whether or not it currently earns anything. That is the standard machine-readable signal, it is already in place, and you can confirm it by viewing the page source.

Blocks of vendor links carry a visible disclosure directly beneath them. Not at the foot of the page, not behind a link — under the thing being disclosed.

Commission rates in this niche typically run from about 3% to 18% depending on the program. We will name the rate band on this page once any program is active.

What it changes about what we recommend

It should change nothing, and here is the specific commitment: we will not add, remove, or reorder a recommendation because of what it pays.

That claim is worth exactly as much as your ability to check it, so here is how to check it. Our reference pages state the criteria before the products. Where a cheaper or unaffiliated option is the better tool, it is named. Where we have not used something ourselves, the page says so rather than implying otherwise.

There is a harder case worth naming: a distributor with an affiliate program is easier to link to than one without. Two of the distributors currently linked from this site — Yardstore and LAS Aerospace — have no affiliate program at all, and they are linked because they are the right answer. If that ever stops being true, this page is where you should expect to find out.

Amazon

If and when this site joins the Amazon Associates Programme, the required statement will appear here and on every page carrying such a link: “As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.”

It is not there yet because we are not in the programme yet.

This is not a product recommendation for a specific repair. Nothing on this site authorises the use of a particular part or tool on a particular aircraft. The applicable SRM, AMM or maintenance manual decides that, and your certifying authority signs it off. A link is a link to a distributor, not approval of a part number for your job.
Educational reference only. not approved data. Always consult the applicable SRM, AMM, or AC 43.13-1B and your certifying authority.
