Terms of Use

Short, because there is not much to agree to. You read pages, you use calculators, you click out to distributors. Nothing here asks you for money or for an account.

Who publishes this

The Aviation Point is published by Pablo Sánchez Blanco, acting as an individual (persona física) established in Spain. There is no company behind it, and saying so is more useful to you than an impressive-sounding entity that does not exist.

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, nothing here removes the rights your own country's consumer law gives you.

What this content is

The Aviation Point publishes reference material about aircraft structures: specifications, reference charts, layout calculators and instructional articles. It is drafted from public primary sources, principally FAA AC 43.13-1B and the FAA Aviation Maintenance Technician Handbook — Airframe, and each page cites what it drew on.

It is reviewed before publication by a named aviation structures engineer whose credentials are set out on the technical review page.

What this content is not

This is the part that matters, and it is not boilerplate.

It is not approved data. Nothing on this site is a substitute for the Structural Repair Manual, the Aircraft Maintenance Manual, an approved repair drawing, or the instructions of the type certificate holder. Where our content and approved data disagree, approved data governs and we would want to hear about it.

It is not a repair authorisation. Whether a given repair may be performed on a given aircraft is a decision for a certifying authority and an appropriately licensed engineer. A calculator returning a number does not make a layout airworthy.

It is not a substitute for training. Reading a page about bucking rivets is not the same as being able to buck rivets.

Sources may be superseded. Regulatory documents are revised. Check that the edition you are relying on is current.

The calculators

They run entirely in your browser, apply the general rules stated on each page, and cite the document each rule comes from. Every calculator carries a section setting out where it stops being valid, and those sections are not decorative — they list the cases the tool does not model.

They are provided as-is. Check the output against your applicable data before acting on it.

Links to distributors

We link out to third-party manufacturers and distributors. We do not sell, stock, ship or warrant anything. Any purchase is a contract between you and that seller, under their terms.

A link is not an approval of a part for your aircraft. See the affiliate disclosure for how those links work commercially.

Liability

This site is published as an educational reference and is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, as to accuracy, completeness or fitness for any particular purpose.

Nothing here is approved data and nothing here authorises a repair. You remain responsible for verifying any figure against the applicable SRM, AMM or AC 43.13-1B, and for obtaining sign-off from an appropriately licensed engineer and your certifying authority before acting on it. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the publisher accepts no liability for loss or damage arising from reliance on this content.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

[PENDIENTE: revisión de esta cláusula por un abogado antes de escalar. Está redactada de forma llana y conservadora, pero contenido técnico de mantenimiento aeronáutico merece una lectura profesional — el plan operativo ya la prevé.]

Changes and corrections

We correct errors and say that we did. Technical reference content that silently edits its mistakes is not worth trusting, and a correction that is hidden is not a correction.

The date at the top of every page is when it was last changed.

Educational reference only. not approved data. Always consult the applicable SRM, AMM, or AC 43.13-1B and your certifying authority.
