What it is for
The 0.498" shank is the bigger of the two standard shanks: it does not take the 0.401" sets used by the 2X, 3X and 4X. Buy 0.498" sets with it. Yardstore calls it a quality import for heavy-duty riveting and knocking out stubborn pins.
Note the order: Yardstore rates this 9X below the 7X (5/16" against 3/8" aluminum), so the X number alone does not rank these two. The rivet sizes themselves are on the AN470 page.
