Notes from the maker

  • Cushion throat catches clipped wire ends, preventing foreign object damage. Spring return retracts the twist rod automatically.
  • Kit 105W: 9 in automatic 1W393, 6 in mini 11W, 19 in long reach 13W, three 1/4 lb spools of stainless wire (.020, .032, .041 in), plastic case; 4 lb. NSN 5180-90-986-8939.
  • Kit 109W: 6 in mini 11W, 19 in long reach 13W, the same three spools, plastic case; 2 lb 12 oz. NSN 5180-01-337-9841.
  • Double twist method, as the maker summarizes AS567: maximum span between tension points 6 in (152 mm); maximum wire in one application 24 in (609 mm).
  • Twists per inch by wire diameter, where one twist is half a complete turn: .020 to .025 in, 8 to 14; .032 to .041 in, 6 to 11; .051 to .060 in, 4 to 9. Pigtail no more than 3/4 in with at least four twists. Your manual governs.
  • From the maker's 2016 catalog: check current availability before you order.
  • The catalog listings linked to this sheet (6 in and 9 in reversible pliers) do not name the maker. They are the same type, not confirmed Milbar parts, and the figures here apply only to the part numbers on this sheet.
